My Inspiration <3

Growing up in the fast pace life that NYC has to offer, I spent, and continually spend my summers in East Hampton, Long Island.  Don’t get me wrong, I love the beach but I also was envious of the days Suzy was at work.  At the time I didn’t think anything of the term “work” until I saw what Suzy did.  Thats when, “Suzy brings Danielle To work” started to happen.

Suzy is my aunt but when I was younger I really looked at her as the sister I never had.  She was my best friend just 20 years older than me. Anything you needed, she had already known.  It was like she was a walking and talking dictionary for boys, fashion, and exercise advise.  (specifically just that, but really any problem you had, you knew Suzy would always be there) I would watch her do her make up, her hair and most importantly pick out the outfit she was going to rock that night.  The first time I ever witness a flat iron was when i was in the bathroom, helping her get ready. “Don’t touch this, Danielle, It’s very hot” did I listen to her? No, why would I do that. I remember I burnt my arm so badly and she felt terrible. “I was only gone for 2 minutes, what did you do” I looked at her and just shrugged. I guess I just wanted tot try everything Suzy tried. LOL remember that suz?

Whether it was Lunch in Montauk or eating pizza at Cittanuova, (which was very rare of suzy to do because like anyone in the fashion industry food, comes secondary), but if Danielle wanted pizza, Suzy ate pizza with her.

She always knew how to look “the” part. Now by “the” part I don’t mean she could have played Mrs. Smith but when Suzy walked by you in a restaurant, not only did you wish you knew her but you wished you had her style and that her closet could miraculously becomes yours. Give Suzy a character and voila, she could pull it off in two seconds! Well, sorry guys but someone had to inherit some of her stuff! That came true for one lucky lady. Can you guess who? Me, you guys! In the hustle and bustle of NYC and East Hampton, Suzy was always getting new clothes and merchandise for the upcoming season, so like any niece would, I obviously had to make sure I got everything she didn’t want.  (It worked)

See, that’s the perk of having an awesome bestie, sister, and friend in the fashion industry, you get the perks! Sample sizes never touched, poof, it’s yours. The thrill of new clothes coming in, and having a chance to look at never before seen merchandise.  It was like all of the sudden Suzy’s life was influencing this 10 year old girl who had wish to do half, if not more things than Suzy did.  Then my dream came true, spring break came around and I was going on a girls trip with my Gigi, mommy and of course the famous Suzy to the one and only city, Paris. 9 hours later and a whole baguette already devoured by moi, Suzy and I were dancing on beds in no time. Which btw if anyone wanted to know where I get my “kissy” face or “duck” face from, its from her.  Thanks Suz. Happy Birthday, I love you!
